My father is Thomas Edward Shanley, son of Sara Elizabeth Ashbaugh born in New Alexandria, PA September 23, 1885 or 88, daughter of Daniel Ashbaugh and Elizabeth ?. Just starting family tree and would like to find more information on family heritage. Any help would be greatly appriciated. I have four children and three grandchildren to pass this information on to, not to count the numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Thank you Caroline Murray.

I was curious to find out where people who
(or whose anchestors) obviously come from
Germany (like myself) settled down. Also I find it
interesting to learn that the routes of our family
name are being looked for along the river Rhine.
I actually come from a village not very away from
Cologne which is on the Rhine and my family has
been living there for several hundred years.
My grandfather spent many years trying to trace
back his routes and ended up in the 15th century.
Many men he came across carried the name
'Johann Heinrich Eschbach'.
I am sure I will visit this web site frequently in the
future and also let the rest of my (huge) family
know.
