72. David ASHBAUGH

Born in the cabin of Col. Samual Carpenter, where his parents stayed overnight, before going to Rushcreek. First white child born in Rushcreek Township, Fairfield Co..

Home was in Rushcreek Township, until 1850, when he bought a farm in Marion Township, Hocking Co., Ohio.


73. Andrew ASHBAUGH

Andrew was born in a brick house north of Bremen, Ohio. In 1936 when 35 yaers old, he accompanied Amos Davis and his nine children to the new Davis home in Newbury Twp., Indiana. He served as Justice of the Peace from 1942 to 1847. He moved from this region to Pretty Prarie in 1954 to give his children the benefit of the fine Ontario School. By 1866 the family moved to Hillsdale, Michigan, in a home just west of Hillsdale College, and finally to a farm called "Lightning Rod House" on Banker's Road in 1872. Andrew died in the home of his son, Sam, in Topeka, Kansas June 12, 1888.

Andrew amd Elizabeth Davis were married at the Davis home in Indiana, Nay 12, 1839. Four children were born to them in Newbury Twp., Indiana,

Andrew and Elizabeth were buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale, Michigan.
