1062. Daisy Lee ASHBAUGH

She spent her entire life in and near Waverly, where she was a life-time member of the Waverly Baptist Church. She is buried in Waverly East Cemetery.

She and her husband lived on a farm east of Waverly for a short time, then moved to Waverly where Mr. Deatherage was co-owner of a livery stable and later operated a meat market. In 1909, they moved to a farm six miles northeast of Waverly where they lived for 20 years. They then moved to the Deatherage homeplace two and one half miles east of Waverly where they lived until retirement in 1945, when they moved back to their home in Waverly.


Albert Otis DEATHERAGE

Born on a farm two and one half miles east of Waverly. He attended Waverly High School. He was a fifty year member of the Waverly Masonic Lodge.


1063. James Frederick ASHBAUGH

As a young man he worked at Turnbull's Elevator, Dave Nathansons' Clothing Store and the Star Store.
He worked for 26 years as Sales Manager for Moorman Manufacturing Company, retiring in 1950. Fred served two terms as city clerk of Waverly, and served nine years on the Waverly School Board, the last three as president. In 1952, he was honored by the Boy Scouts of America in recognition of twenty-five years as District Council member.
