1210. Janice ASHBAUGH

3 sons and 2 daughters. Not all are known.
Married a civil engineer. In 01/1942 they lived in Portland, OR. According to Stella's letter she was 26 in 1942 (hence b. abt. 1916). Last known residence in the Seattle, WA area.


1212. Whiniford "Winnie" ASHBAUGH

Graduated early from Plant High School on 06/06/1935.
"Winnie" and her mother lived with Don (Ashbaugh) and his wife Elsie. One day while the rest of the family had gone to Dalton, Winnie had a party and left the booze bottles out. Don got mad, and Winnie moved out and went to live with Lois (Homer's sister) in St. Lois, MO.
She and George may have gotten a divorce, but this is unknown at this time.
Last known residence in St. Louis, MO


1213. Donald Freeman ASHBAUGH

Graduated from Plant High School 04/07/1933. He is described by family members as 6' 6", slender.
He was a deacon of Florida Avenue Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida for many years.
He apprenticed as a furniture finisher but actually worked as a spray painter of houses and large structures, including those of steel. (This was in the days when paint had lead in it). He suffered his first stroke about 1961 at the age of about 46, which resulted in personality change (consisting of extreme mood swings) and weakness of one arm. He later underwent surgery to remove a blood clot at the base of his brain. He suffered his last stroke in 1969, dying just a few days prior to both his sons high school graduation. His death certificate lists his cause of death as cerebral vascular accident (stroke), arterial hypertension (high blood pressure), and enlarged heart.
Buried: He is buried next to his in-laws, Mary and Burrell Gainey at Garden of Memories in Tampa, FL. No headstone.
