Herman B. Duermyer, 82, Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, July 1, 1999, at his home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Heritage Funeral Home, Parkville, MO; burial in Hampton Cemetery, Platte County, MO. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 5, at the funeral home.
Mr. Duermyer was born February 8, 1917, in Kansas City, KS, and moved to Platte County, MO, in 1924. He and his wife, Mary, were married for 63 years. He retired from TWA in 1978, and had been a member of the International Machinists Union for over 40 years.
Since his retirement, he had been an active member of the TWA retirees club. During WWII, he was an inspector of B-25 Bombers that were manufactured by North American Aviation, in Fairfax, KS. His parents were Louis L. Duermyer and Anna Ashbaugh Duermyer, who both preceded him in passing. His passing was also preceded by his brother, Louis Duermyer, and sister, Claudine Duermyer Coxey. He is survived by his wife, Mary Whitton Duermyer; a son, Herman L.
Duermyer; a daughter, Bonnie J. Keller; three grandsons, Robert Keller, John Keller, and James Keller; three granddaughters, Debra Duermyer Parker, Dawna Duermyer Bottorff, and Karen Keller Cuda; two great-grandchildren, Cody Bottorff and Hannah Bottorff, all of whom live in the Kansas City northland. Herman is also survived by his brother, Charles R. Duermyer, Ogden, UT. (Arrangements: Heritage Funeral Home, Parkville, MO)
